Meet our Roaster
I grew up in Springfield, Missouri where I attended Evangel University where I met my Iowan wife, Emily Orr. We moved to Iowa in 2019 to be near family as we raise our boys, Judah (6) and Micah (3).
Springfield has several amazing coffee shops that showed me there is more than watered-down church coffee or my grandmother’s Folgers.
In 2014 my friend, Jeremy White, challenged me to roast my own coffee beans. I started with a $15 popcorn popper and roasted so much coffee the popper literally melted.
Coffee is more than just bean water to me. It is the doorway to good community and deep conversation. Anyone who steps into my home is immediately offered a pour-over of the best coffee in the world and is welcome to make themselves at home. I want to share this excellent coffee with you and hope it brings community and conversation into your home.
I air-roast single origin beans from Sweet Marias who partner directly with farmers across the world."
